Objectives.
Changes in the business environment and labor market continue to put pressure on mid-sized public companies, including DongBang, and creating new value through digital transformation has become a necessity rather than an option. In order to continue to maintain DongBang's competitiveness in a changing environment, we conducted a Design Thinking Workshop centered on employee participation to innovate new ways of working centered on digital transformation.

Approaches.
The workshop aimed to identify the pain points and needs of the employees' current way of working, and to identify the direction and detailed ideas for innovation through empathy with each other based on data-driven, collaboration and communication-centered, work automation and efficiency, and lastly, information security awareness. To this end, the workshop was held in two rounds, with members of various functions and positions participating in each round.

In order to have a meaningful workshop with the attendees in a short two-day timeframe, we prepared sample personas and employee needs based on the results of the pre-business diagnostic interviews, so that we could quickly focus on empathizing with the phenomenon and generating ideas.

Outcomes.
During the two-day workshop, 57 East members participated and generated nearly 400 digital transformation-based workplace innovation ideas across 16 topics, which were seeded and action-itemized to build new digital work solutions.
